Additional Grounding Points :: Subaru Impreza RB5 Owners Club
After reading a post on the Scoobynet BBS, I thought I would give this simple and cheap mod a try. All that is required is some stranded copper wire, insulated with PVC that is resistant to heat, oil and abrasion, some ring terminals and some heat shrink sleeving to protect the exposed wire.
As with the drivers-side, connect the cable to both the strut tower & the bracket on the manifold as shown in the picture.
Point 5 - ECU Bracket
Lift back the passenger carpet and unscrew the ECU cover. Connect one of the grounding cables to the bracket bolt.
Point 6 - Alternator
I had to bend the ring terminal 90 degrees to fit onto the Alternator bolt (10mm).
Battery Connection
All the cables were run from each of the mounting points, inside the appropriate size of conduit and connected to the negative terminal on the battery.
